Biography :

Eva Papastergiadou is a Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Patras, Greece, with expertise in ecology of aquatic macrophytes. Coordinator, of the Greek National “Natura 2000” program, for the Implementation of the EU Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC, in Greece. Expertise on ecosystem-scale dynamics in freshwaters, involved in many monitoring projects on the conservation, management plans of protected areas, rehabilitation, and restoration of wetlands. Expertise, in developing aquatic macrophyte indices, to implement Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EE), in lakes, rivers, coastal and transitional waters. She has experience as key partner and National representative of Greece and Cyprus in MEDGIG Intercalibration process for rivers (quality element, macrophytes); in many national and international projects on biodiversity conservation, shallow lakes functioning; monitoring and management of protected areas; coordination of scientific working teams (e.g. Implementation of
